CLINT WHITFIELD AWARD PRESENTATION

On July 30, 2025, the Kiwanis Club of Aruba proudly celebrated nine exceptional HAVO and VWO students from Colegio Arubano, presenting them with the prestigious Clint Whitfield Award. These young leaders were recognized not only for their academic achievements but also for their compassion, purpose, and commitment to shaping a better future.

The ceremony welcomed distinguished guests including Minister of Tourism, Labor and Transport Wendrick Cecilia and Member of Parliament Gino Goeloe, whose presence underscored Aruba’s dedication to youth empowerment and leadership development.

Named in honor of Clinton “Clint” Whitfield, the founding president of the Kiwanis Club of Aruba, the award continues to inspire generations of Arubans to lead with kindness, conviction, and service.

A Night of Pride and Purpose

Proud parents and family members stood by as their children were honored, joined by Assistant Headmaster Ms. Gwenn Davelaar, Hailenne, and Janine from Colegio Arubano. Members of the Kiwanis Club were also in attendance, reinforcing their mission to uplift and empower the youth of our community.

🎓 Student Spotlight: Evie van der Sloot

In a special highlight of the evening, the Legacy Award—presented by Strena Creatives—was awarded to Evie van der Sloot of V5. Evie shared her gratitude and excitement about returning next year for the 30th anniversary of the Clint Whitfield Award in 2026. She plans to graduate as part of V6 and pursue her dream of studying Medicine in the Netherlands.
